The team at eHarmony Labs is always investigating ways to identify if we’re really helping people. In a recent study in conjunction with Opinion Research Corp International, our team asked a sample of people who had met their partner via an online dating site within the last five years how satisfied they are with their current relationship. They then asked the happiest couples (satisfaction above the mean) how many first dates they went on as a result of their membership on such online dating site. The results indicated that it took a fewer number of first dates to find a satisfied relationship for a person using eHarmony compared to other dating sites that had a statistically significant number of daters reporting to have met their partner on that site. This indicates that when a person is on a first date as a result of having met on eHarmony, they have a better chance of seeing such first date lead to a satisfied relationship.
